Following the screening, Stillman loyalists reconvened at the SoHo Grand’s Club Room for cocktails and a chance to fete the director’s comeback. “I aspire to his type of humor,” explained Stillman’s leading man, Adam Brody. Chace Crawford made an appearance, as did Dylan McDermott. And amid a sea of blinding flashing bulbs, Chloë Sevigny, the star of Stillman’s 1998 film, The Last Days of Disco, emerged with her costar Tara Subkoff. “It’s been so long since I’ve worked with Whit,” said Sevigny, “but, I’m just so proud of him!”
